I was in Marshall for just one night, which included a stay at the National House Inn. What an absolutely charming place! The staff was warm and helpful, the accommodations themselves more than sufficient. I am always looking forward to my next stay!

Great time, very cordial staff. We can't wait to go back!

We stayed a long weekend there about 5 years ago. It was during a time the city was experiencing a lot of heavy truck and maintenance 24 hrs a day. Had a room on the Michigan Ave side overlooking the Brooks Fountain Park and roundabout. It began raining in the middle of the night, and noise of tires on wet pavement below woke me and kept me awake. So those historically correct windows have their drawbacks. Also, the bathroom in that lower priced room was pretty much a tight closet and a bit spooky from low lighting. On the good side, the room was spacious, the bed cozy, the daily breakfast several notches above what I expected, and the dining room full with the other jovial guests.

Wow. Had an amazing time at the National House Inn. We went because we were attending the candleight historic house walk in December (definitely recommend!). Right when you walk in the place feels like home. The fireplace and the right smells of coffee and hospitality fill the air. Tea and hot cocoa are always available along with some goodies they set out for the guests pleasure. My husband and I stayed in the Gorham room and it was so spacious yet cozy. They even set up a miniature Christmas tree in our room! The sheets and towels were clean and spelled like mom's house if mom's house spelled like heaven. I haven't had a better nights sleep in years. Katherine and Deb went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. Cold water, ice, coffee, you name it. They also have a homemade continental breakfast which is better than most breakfasts I've paid for. There is something so magical about this place and we cannot wait to return. It is conveniently located within walking distance of anything in town. I tell all my friends about this place and strongly suggest they experience the magic for themselves. Hospitality of times past.

This Bed and Breakfast was one of the nicest places I ever had the pleasure of staying at. Staff was so polite and hospitable. The feel of the lodging was extremely relaxed. Staff has done an excellent job of maintaining the historical integrity of the inn. Did I mention the breakfast was great too. I will stay here for many years to come!
