Before posting this, I wrote two letters to Craig Kempf. A simple, professional acknowledgement on his part could have resulted in a better outcome. They failed to put my mom's death notice in the Battle Creek Enquirer. They failed to put her obituary in our local newspaper when they were supposed to. They arbitrarily added a name to her surviving relatives in her obituary even though we wrote her obituary. They published her obituary on their web page with her date of birth and date of death being the same day, and that date did not correspond with either day. We paid a very premium price for pretty substandard service. We had direct cremation, no services at the funeral home. For as little they needed to do and as much as they charge, we were less than impressed. We would have preferred to discuss our concerns with the owner rather than to leave bad online reviews, but he completely ignored my efforts to reach him. For that reason alone, I would NOT recommend Craig Kempf Family Funeral Homes.
